The Disappearance of Right and Left

Inside the Art Toronto Tour 2008

Join acclaimed Canadian dance artist, Peggy Baker, as she takes you behind one of her company’s most successful commissions – The Disappearance of Right and Left, choreographed and directed by Sarah Chase, with text by Peggy Baker.

An autobiographical work created in 2004, The Disappearance of Right and Left is a seamless marriage of movement and text, drawing on stories from Baker’s family history as well as her own life experiences. Themes of transformation, belonging, loss and joy are shared in an intimate and reflective performance.

These performances will feature a pre-show introduction and a post-show chat. You are invited to glimpse the inner workings of danced art and to explore the ideas and methods through questions and observations of your own.
