Winter in New York
Peggy Baker Dance Projects at the Harkness Dance Festival
For the first time in 9 years, Peggy Baker Dance Projects will be in New York City - one of the dance capitals of the world!
The company has been invited to perform coalesce at the Harkness Dance Festival, presented at the historic 92nd Street Y. Curator Doug Varone has put together an intriguing new format for the performance: stripped and dressed.
In act one, stripped, Peggy will give audiences a guided tour of the choreography, describing the influences, methods and structures at play, with the dancers illustrating the concepts in rehearsal clothing. In act two, dressed, the choreography will be performed fully lit and costumed. It will be an intimate and revealing presentation, and a truly one-of-a-kind exploration of dance.
Peggy Baker Dance projects will be in New York City February 24-26. For details on the festival, visit 92y.org
